Duraglas Expanding Territory; Expanding Lineup

Well, here we are in a new year, and it looks like 2009 is going to be a very good one for Duraglas. Of course, the biggest news to start the year off is that Chrysalis HD and Chrysalis Studio are now available in Canada (as of Jan. 1st). Duraglas has signed Scodesign Distribution in Montreal, Quebec to handle all of the eastern Canadian region. “Scodesign is very tuned-in to the specifications market and will make an ideal partner for that region”, says Duraglas founder and executive vice-president Joanna Jorgensen. That makes Canada the fourth major world region to show a demand for the product, the other three being Europe, South America and the Middle-East. All this international interest in Chrysalis is very encouraging, and it’s surely only a matter of time before Duraglas expands into many other markets.

The second bit of exciting news is that Duraglas is now deep in research and development for two entirely new product lines; a next-generation PETG/glass laminate product and an amazing new decorative ballistic product, for use in high security and defense applications. Finally, architects can design security zones that will be secure and protected and aesthetically pleasing. Research is underway, and we’ll post updates to the development of these products as they become available.

In other news, Duraglas will be adding 12 new designs to the Chrysalis panel line-up for 2009, expanding the already outstanding collection currently available. The new designs will include a new palette of classic solid colors as well as a number of new translucent metal patterns. The specifics for the new designs will be finalized in time for the 2009 Chrysalis product catalog. So, if you’re still looking at an older catalog be sure to ask about getting a new one.

To wrap things up, we’d like to mention that we were officially announced as a member of the Trade Only Design Library this weekend in their monthly “New Manufacturers on TODL” email. By Monday morning we had received over one hundred new inquiries from around the world! A pretty impressive response for our first day. The Trade Only Design Library, or TODL.com as they call themselves, is an international database serving architects, designers and contractors all over the world with a massive number of product specifications and manufacturer listings. Since it is trade only, you must be a member to view their listings.

That’s all for this post. We’re going to try and move to a more regular posting schedule as soon as an appropriate one can be sorted out. Thanks for reading.
